I hung out with Amul last Friday. Whenever I see him, he always shows me the coolest things that I need to incorporate into my kittified life. One of the many things he recommended to me was to start a social network via Ning.
So, here it is: HELLO KITTY JUNKIES
I played around with the platform and there are a lot of features you would expect. The ones I enjoyed are: Photos (import photos from my Flickr account), RSS (pull in the latest feeds from my favorite blogs) and Forum (Hello Kitty Junkies can get together and discuss top secret stuff — as soon as someone joins). I also liked making up a small questionnaire for everyone to put on their profile page.
As of right now, the design is a stock theme.. But do not worry, I plan to kittify the layout.
Also, I am the only member. Will somebody please join and be my friend?
It would be fun to be in a community where other Hello Kitty lovers are friends with one another — that way everyone can communicate with each other (and possibly set up that gift exchange/sawp thing I brought up earlier). I know Sanrio already has a community – Sanriotown, but Hello Kitty Junkies is especially for the Hello Kitty obsessed person… People that come to mind are: Helene, Roxy, Suzanne, Emmalee, Diana, Jessica, Jenny… (And now that I called you out, you might as well join).
