I am so excited about the Hello Kitty Gift Exchange/Swap that is going on right now on Hello Kitty Junkies! I finished packing everything into a box and thought, “What else can I do to make it special for my Hello Kitty recipient Suey? I know! I will do some origami!” So, I remember I saw a pattern for Hello Kitty (head and body). I googled and found Cute Kitty. I also wanted to make a bow, which lead me to find Origami Christmas Bow. And this is the result:
Kitty-chan’s head and body are made from 15cm x 15cm squares. For her bow, I used a 7.5cm x7.5cm square. I messed up on my first Kitty (you do not even want to see it!) so I took paper from that to make her bow.
Origami Kitty’s body doesn’t really look proportional to the real Hello Kitty’s body… But it makes sense. Handmade things always seem to add a little bit of extra umph (at least for me). It shows that you took some time to make a special effort, so I hope she likes it… Actually, I cannot wait for her to get this package. ^-^

I was thinking of joining the swap too but since I am the only one on thie far side of the world, I thought that whoever would get me as swap partner would get penalized by high shipping costs. What do you think?
Beautiful origami… Such a thoughtful gift, my friend.
