Hello Kitty Big City Dreams DS

Sanrio has a new game coming out for the DS — Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams! It is super cute and it even sounds pretty fun to play! My brother Ed told me about this game before (since he is a programmer and a gamer, he knows this kinda stuff before I even start asking him questions).

Last week, I got to listen in on a conference call in which Paula from TriplePoint (PR for the game) asked PJ from Empire Interactive (game maker) some basic q’s about Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams.

So, here are the important facts: The game will retail for $29.99 and it is expected to be released on October 28th (I saw 28-Nov-2008 in the release date on another part of the site). But do games ever get released on time? If you are a member of Sanriotown, you can use your Kitty points and get a 15% discount for this game and an account for HKO Open Beta when you pre-order. That seems like a pretty sweet deal… You know what would have been even better!? Throwing in a Hello Kitty stylus (in my dreams).

And the details of the game (Empire Interactive):

The story finds our heroine, Kitty White leaving her home in Sanrio Town to try to make her mark in The Big City. Kitty moves into a simple apartment downtown adjacent to The Big City. Although she lives on the bottom floor now, she dreams of the day she can move up to the luxurious penthouse. Help Hello Kitty explore her new home and finds all sorts of people to make friends with! Perhaps by helping others and working hard, Hello Kitty will finally say Hello to her dream suite in the sky!

PJ said there will be about twenty characters, old and new, like My Melody, Dear Daniel and Cinnamoroll. Sanrio was heavily involved with the animation and modeling of the characters in this game. Here are the screen shots I could find:

The difficulty level of this game is aimed for those in the age range of 8-12, which means I will be able to play without anyone’s help! Ha! I mean hopefully! I am looking forward to playing this game along with all the mini-games, especially the sushi game (PJ’s favorite).
