This is one of the Gotochi Kitty books I have been lusting over ever since the girl at Neotype Station in Chinatown showed me hers (gotochi = Japanese for available in limited places). I went down to Kinokuniya in Little Tokyo as soon as I got a chance to. Too bad that they were all out of stock! However, I was able to place an order and pick it up a few days later. Here is the cover of one of the books (three in total).
On the inside, each section is introduced by highlighting a region of Japan with all of the different Kitties representing the many prefectures…
This is the basic layout of the book…
Sexy Carnival dancer Kitties or Vegas showgirl Kitties?
It even shows the tags that come with many of the charms…
I really like how some Kitties are featured with multiple angles — front, back, profile, three-quarter, top views…
And there are a lot of silly ones, like this Kitty-chan as a fishie…
I like this sunkissed Kitty because I think if I were a Hello Kitty, this is sort of like what I would look like. ^_^
I am always happy when I see things I personally have in my collection!
This is one of my favorite charms because Kitty-chan is dressed up like Momotarō, the Peach Boy (popular Japanese fairey tale)… I have had this since I was in college…
This is one of the kittirific charms I picked up when I went to the Anime Expo this past summer…
This is another one I have…
On my last trip to JapanLA, I got the Kitty on the bottom right…
Saw this one too, but I did not get it! Ah shucks!
More silly kawaii goodness…
More cute stuff…
Who thinks of these? Every single page pretty much made me go, “Awwww!”
Awww… The uakari is too cute with that red face!
Hello Kitty sitting inside her bowl eating noodles… Adorable, right?
This one is funny…
Kitty-chan dressed like a whale…
I believe these books will make me want to collect all of them… More than I already do. I know I cannot possibly have every single one, but wouldn’t it be Kitty-fab if I did!? Actually, it is not a bad idea… Until I think about how much money it would cost (anywhere from $1 – $8 for each charm)… And one of the books boasts that it features 788 Kitties in the collection… And there are three books… I am not the best in math, but I do know it adds up to $$$$!
