Project Hello Kitty Deco-den iPhone

I have mentioned it before to some of my friends (and even kittified my iPhone’s theme)… But this time, I am going to REALLY Hello Kittify my phone! ^_^ By now, everyone has heard of deco-den (or dekoden)… It has been super popular in Japan for years — every little thing gets decorated over there! Keitai (mobile phones), mirrors, business card holders, Nintendo DS systems, watches, keys, pens, lipsticks, lighter cases… Even nails! o_O It is extremely over-the-top GAUDY to the fullest! And I suppose that is why I love it so much! ^_^

I love the mix of crystal rhinestones, pearls, miniature sweets and all other *shiny*pretty*girly* things. Below is the Hello Kitty deco-den kit I recently ordered from Strapya World (which btw I have ordered from previously and is starting to become one of my favorite online shops)… I also managed to find a shop in LA that sold CHIARA items (not pictured below). Oh! And check out dekoden for some fantastic supplies!

I know what you’re thinking because it crosses my mind all the time — this is so not practical! But it sure is kawaii! Hopefully my kittified iPhone will look just as fabulous! And then, who knows!? Maybe I will deco-den my digital camera too! ^_^

    Anyway, I was just surfing around looking for more places to buy deco goodies, yearning for more variety than I’ve currently uncovered. I was getting frustrated having found only a few sites and had basically reconciled myself to the fact that we, in the US at least, will always get short-changed in regard to the cool stuff available in Japan…. when I found this page and the link to dekoden.com! *angelic music* It’s just what I was looking for; a way into Japan without actually having to fly there. :D

    And I just wanted to say, in case it helps anyone…… Dekoden.com IS available in English and DOES ship overseas. You need only to locate the one of the two “English” links…. and then poof! comprehension.
