I could not resist getting the I Love Hello Kitty bento box! It is from one of my favorite series and I need something extra kawaii to put my lunch in. My Mom doesn’t know it, but she really loves to cook! I enjoy it too, especially when she makes some homemade Japanese food. One of the dishes I love is Osekihan (Festive Japanese red beans and rice). Because I have a super sweet tooth — my Mom adds sweet chestnuts!
I wanted to take some Osekihan to work to share with my buddy Amandabot (who is modeling the bento)… But then I remember, we have totally different taste buds! o_O She L-O-V-E-S hot and spicy foods; I am more into sweet and salty. But she ended up liking it… Or maybe she was being a good friend and telling me my Mom’s cooking is yummy (*hopes* the first choice is true*).
I *heart* the kawaii details: delicate and subtle colors (although I am a fan of high contrast Kitty designs too), glitter inside the plastic, polka dots (who does not like polka dots?), semi 3D plastic Kitty-chan, the clasps on the lid are pink bows… Everything is pretty! Well, almost everything — if I could change one thing on the design, it would be the font for “Hello Kitty,” which could be even more kawaii IMO… Or maybe even taken off altogether.
The Summer line of I Love Hello Kitty stuff out in Japan right now… And yes, I have a wish list coming soon! ^_^
