Hello Kitty x Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

Sanrio Hello Kitty Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Waiting Area

Many of my friends at Hello Kitty Junkies know about the Taiwan Airport… And how much kittification there is at terminal C3! Some have even traveled through the airport: seen the Baby Kitty nursery, waited for a flight at the Kitty waiting area, played in the Kitty playground and even shopped for *exclusive* Taiwan only merchandise from the Sanrio Gift Gate shop! On January 1, 2010 (the day I flew back to the U.S.), I too had the pleasure of being in my own little Hello Kitty Heaven for about 45 minutes! *_____*

This experience has actually been one of the top *wish list* items since I could remember so I was super *excited* when I finally got to see the kittified terminal! I walked through the airport security with less than one hour before my flight was departing. I checked out a map and noticed my terminal was at the opposite end of Gate C3 which is the Hello Kitty area… Yes, I did hustle. n_~

So excited when I saw this sign — too bad I could not take this on the plane with me! o_O

The first area I saw was the Baby Kitty nursery…

I love the die cut clouds ceiling with the very ambient recessed lighting…

Kawaii pink kittified crib…

The door is kinda purrr-fect, no?

I felt like I was in Hello Kitty Heaven when I saw this Travel Kitty figure! I was on a time limit so decided not to go inside Gift Gate yet *you know I could get stuck inside for an hour and then I would miss the other Hello Kitty sightings at the terminal, not to mention my flight home*

Hello Kitty world clock — I may need one of these in my room, it would be nice to know what time it is in France, Philippines, Singapore, etc. so I could know what time I could chat with my Hello Kitty Junkies! n_~

The time was 3:14pm… My flight was going to start boarding at 3:45pm… And I had a good 5-10 minute power walk ahead of me… Better hurry up!

I wished this was my boarding area…

Travel Kitty is kawaii, neh!? I think it’s all in the wink wink! n_~

*FACT* Kitty waiting are is so crowded because travelers love to be surrounded by cuteness! n_~

There are several of these “Taiwan Folk Festival” themed illustrations featuring Kitty-chan and her friends decorated around the waiting area…

Pink Hello Kitty seats!!! I wish I had one (or four) in my house! =n_n=

This is the view of the Kitty waiting area from the passing walkway area (I don’t know the official name but you know what I mean?)

More die cut clouds from the ceiling with cool blue lighting (like the sky)… And yes, that is the Gift Gate under warm lighting way in the back… The warm color makes it look so cozy and inviting especially against the blue — as a Graphic Designer, I can tell you this is 100% intentional. n_~

The Hello Kitty Rainbow Theater cartoon plays all day on the screen inside Kitty-chan’s play area…

I *LOVE* this graphic! I have seen it exist as a desktop wallpaper and even seen it on a tote bag… Just classic imagery for me! n_n

Kitty-chan wants you to learn how to count!

Don’t be bored waiting for your flight — go ahead and solve a Hello Kitty puzzle!

Kitty playground…

I want this mirror! And I wouldn’t mind the height chart on the right of it either! n_~

And there is Gift Gate! @_@

I really x 1000 wanted to take photos… But: 1. I know it is not allowed; 2. I was running low on time so I had to get my shop on!

I hope I have time to take photos of what I got so I can share with y’all! Til then, bye bye! *waves*

Btw, I did make it to my flight on time… I was one of the last ones to board the plane and I had one extra carry-on filled with Hello Kitty goodies from Gift Gate! n_~
