Hello Kitty Goodies From The PI Part 6

October 7th, 2008

I am not sure why, but I am a sucker for kawaii stationery. These are some more goodies from the Philippines:

When I saw this My Melody notepad, I thought, “Wow! I am just like her!” lol

This Hello Kitty mini notepad was super cute! The candy cane is actually a pen! ^_^

I picked up some really cute band-aids… I probably will not use these because I only have one of each and they are pretty adorable…

And this was a pen I got for free… I think it is so un-cute, that I don’t even think I could give this away!

My Favorite Sanrio Shop…

September 27th, 2008

Maybe not my absolute favorite, since I want to go to Japan one day (sooner than later)… But for now, I do not have any problems calling the Sanrio inside the South Coast Plaza my favorite Sanrio shop in the SoCal area. Go there once and you are very likely to fall in love with that particular shop for a few reasons…

I simply went in there to get something for JamyKitty (my November swap partner on Flickr’s Hello Kitty Addicts)… And then I came across the Panda Kitty bobble head… Which I am happy to say is added to My Kitty Bobble Crew.

And I saw this and picked it up immediately! I love pandas because they are just too cute not to love. And one time, when I was in college, this cute boy told me I reminded him of a panda!

And since Halloween is coming around the corner… Why not?

They carry a lot of different lines — I saw a section of all Japanese imported goodies, there is a case filled with Tarina Tarantino jewelry, you can order Hello Kitty furniture (yeah, I did not know this was available in the states!), I spotted some rare Momoberry pieces, all the new exclusive stuff on Sanrio’s site (some stores carry a few things from the new lines), there are clothing and shoes… They were just very well stocked with a large variety of merch! That is good because you have choices! And bad because you end up spending more money than you initially anticipated. Well… I controlled a lot of self control… I do not plan on going back to this Sanrio until I know I can spend a lot of cash! It is just way too tempting! ^_^

I like toys… Sometimes, too much! I still have friends who do not understand how and why. I really like the miniature stuff too! Like this Hello Kitty mini fridge that I got:

When you push one of the buttons on the fridge door, the lights flash and a tune plays…

I love all the kawaii details…

Back detail of the packaging:

More toys… One would think I am seven years old by the products I pick out… Or maybe that I was shopping for a niece. Nope, it is really for me — and I am not seven. I do not like to lie and tell people the toys are for someone else either, which gets a little bit embarrassing at times… But what can I do? I have to be true to myself, right?

Opening the boxes and putting together the stickers on the objects is going to be such a blast! ^_^

I saw this first, which is why I got it. If I saw more of the Hello Kitty toys, I would have probably scored another Hello Kitty one instead of this My Melody and Kuromi toy (sad to say but true).

Now for the irony:  I do not plan on playing with these toys. They will eventually come out of there packages, be stickered up and photographed… And then be put on a shelf somewhere as decoration, or worse, right back into the boxes.

Hello Kitty in Boracay

September 4th, 2008

I am still enjoying my stay in Manila… Hello Kitty and I tagged along to Boracay with Chris and Chrissie! Boracay is so beautiful — it was paradise and I highly recommend going if you ever get a chance to visit the Philippines (actually, I would make that the #1 place to visit here)…

Kitty-chan was so happy to be in Boracay! And we were so lucky because it did not even rain! (it’s rainy season right now).

Hello Kitty posing in front of the hotel…

I finally tried Halo-halo and Mmmm! It was mas sarap (very delicious)!

We went island hopping and got some snorkeling into the schedule… I also had an allergic reaction to a puffer fish and the results were UG-LY! My bottom lip was swollen! It was like 5x the size of my upper lip — I looked like a cartoon character!!! But the trip was still so much fun!

Hello Kitty took a picture in front of a really cool sand castle… There were actually a few of these along the beach. The coolest ones had holes in the sand that were deep enough for candles — looked so pretty when it was lit up at night.

Hello Kitty loved posing during the amazing sunset on the beach…

I found some knock-off Hello Kitty bags on the island…

And even a My Melody bag…

The one Hello Kitty thing I got from Boracay was this pink bag. It was 380 PHP, which is approximately $8.17 USD, and it is not official Sanrio… But it’s KYUT, no? Fyi, Brian told me that’s how Filipinos say cute! ^_<

And I had this necklace made by a local artisan… My name inside the outline of Hello Kitty’s head. There is a little part of her bow missing on top and her head is kind of too circular, but I can tell it is her…

And when we came back to Manila, of course I had to try McDonald’s. I ordered a Happy Meal (Star Wars toys), thinking it came with french fries, but it didn’t so I had to order the fries separately. The fries taste the same.

It is kind of crazy how the McDonald’s branding is exactly same everywhere you go… With a few differences in the menus depending on what part of the world you are in. I saw rice in a Mickey D’s wrapper and that made me smile! And I also saw ube filled pie! Ube is purple yam and it’s very yummy too!

The McDonald’s in the Philippines also has a McCafé next to it where you can order espressos, lattes, iced drinks, sweets… How come I don’t have one near my house???

I visited the Gift Gate in Greenbelt in Makati, but it was not as big as the one at TriNoma. I have not been to Greenhills yet — I am so anxious to go there but there may not be enough time, since Brian’s wedding is this Saturday! My vacation is already half way over (a litle bit more)… How sad! I am really enjoying my time here… And I am still amazed that there are so many malls and it is so crowded (even during the weekdays).

I know it is September and I do not have a new wallpaper up… Doh! My bad… I will try to make one when I get a chance (maybe by mid-month)… Anyway, thanks for all the comment on Hello Kitty Junkies — they make me very happy! ^_^

Kawaiiness = My Weakness

August 14th, 2008

What is it with me that I cannot walk into a Sanrio shop without walking out of it with at least one thing? (And in this case, two).

That is what happens when you are a Hello Kitty Junkie. I got these stickers because they are kawaii… Do I really have to justify buying cute Hello Kitty stickers that make me smile? I love them because they are puffy. The Hello Kitty sheet has some glitter on it, which I can live without…

I saw this My Melody sticker sheet too — and I did not want to discriminate, because that is just politically incorrect! The My Melody sheet is puffy too and has a thin gold stroke around the stickers… I also love the translucency…

Yes… Kawaiiness is my weakness. If a guy wrote me a poem, I probably would not care for it much… But if he gave me some cute stickers, I would be smitten! Is that lame?
