Help Me Hello Kittify My Place!

Oh wow! It’s been a long time… I recently moved *exactly one week and one day ago* n___n I am suuuper happy because now I have enough room for my Hello Kitty belongings! @___@ AND I will not have to do the horrible 405 commute everyday (L.A. traffic can be crazy bad)! x___X All of my things packed in my storage unit finally came out — yip-pee!!!

Here is a photo of the current status of my couch (yes, it is from IKEA)… AND yes, all the Kitty plushies are taking over… Where will my real life friends sit when they stop by!?

I still do not have internet at my new place… o___O And you know I pretty much stayed glued to the internet! Yes, I am procrastinating, but also… I NEED TO CLEAN + ORGANIZE PRONTO! o___O I feel a bit overwhelmed, so if anyone wants to come over for my “cleaning party,” please come! *Just don’t take any of my Kitty things* n_~

Oh! It goes without saying that I will try my best to Hello Kittify *everything* I can in my new place… My inspiration is the Hello Kitty apartment from Three Apples! If you have any kawaii kitti-spiration, please share links in the comments!

Domo arigato! =n_n=

Sanrio Bday Treats from Hello Kitty Junkies, Part 3

One time *not long ago* my friend Celina Rei told me that my “internet” friends are not “real friends.” And I did not quite understand her statement… But the more I thought about it, the more I understood why she said that. I must admit this: I am the only one in my circle of friends who has met as many “internet” friends as I have… My guesstimate is about 30+ “internet” friends in the past couple of years (and by “internet” friends, I mean my social network buddies, Hello Kitty Junkies, blog readers, etc.). Considering how paranoid I can be sometimes, this is kinda strange… Or is it? o_O

One of the first Junkies I ever met was Jordan. She is an *awesome* Junkie and all around kittirific friend! *She constantly listens to me complain.* I did have a cozy un-Birthday celebration (no February 29th this year) and she was able to attend… And yup, you guessed it! She spoiled me with a kittilicious prezzie! =n_n=

Jordan is the one of the crafty and creative Junkies… Look what she made for me!? Kawaii! *___*

How freakin’ thoughtful of her! And she knows I love photos of myself, hehehe! n_~

She gave me this super cute Together with Hello Kitty paper fan! Actually, I do not know what the correct name for this collabo is… Can anyone help me out please? n_n

What’s inside this Kitty decorated box?

Squishy Hello Kitty dessert keychain! n_n

And the giant Cicely Margo bow ring which I totally wanted from the Three Apples Fashion Show!!! *_____*

Does it look good on me!? n_~

Jordan = too sweet! *Very lucky to have her as my kemosabe* @___@

Thank you Jordan!!!

All of the paintings SOLD OUT before the show was even over! @_@

Hello Kitty Meet the Artists Party Racep

My *fave* event from Three Apples was Saturday, November 7, 2009 — Hello Kitty Meet the Artists Day! This was by far the best day! Obviously my opinion but I have very good reason why I loved this day soOoOo much! @_@

I had been working a lot (everyday for the past several weeks) but I always looked forward to Saturdays! I did not enjoy the waking up early part — I had to be down in Culver City by 9:30am on a weekend… I am not exactly a “morning person.” The good part:  being able to choose an original art piece from Buff Monster‘s Series 2 panels!

As you may already know, Buff Monster is an amazing contemporary artist who created a painting and prints for the Three Apples show along with a series of 35 10″x10″ wooden panels. His series was so popular that a second series followed. This series was released on the Artists Day and since I missed out on the first series, I kind of gave in to peer pressure and bought a panel! Very hard not to buy one when Bellerina and Jordan and Jamie and Jenna and Jill and Christian and etc… bought one… And also, I met Buff Monster and he is so cool and cute and nice and cute and funny and cute and really smart and cute and loves Hello Kitty… And did I mention he is cute!? n_~ Seriously, he is a really talented artist and I wanted to show my love and support!

Can you guess which one is mine!?

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples Buff Monster Series 2 Panels

I actually spent a lot of the morning taking orders for these panels. During this time, I got to meet some new Hello Kitty buddies who collect art! I met Adrienne and Jolene — they both helped me to pick out the panel. I also met Robyn — yes, her name is spelled just like Robyn, the pop singer — remember Do You Know (What It Takes) from back in the day!? (I still have that cd single somewhere…) n_n

Ok, I guess right now would be a good time to share why exactly the Artists Day was the best for me. I started off meeting some really awesome people — and it really seemed genuine… I felt that throughout the whole entire day! I also saw the amazing Three Apples crew — Supa Jill, Supa Dave, Christian, Susan, Jamie, Vance… And you know I adore all of them (like to the 7645272934568th degree)! n_n

More original artwork released that day by Plasticgod — another super popular artist! How popular, you ask? Popular enough to make several series of these adorable 4″x4″ Kitties! So far, there are: Series 1 (19 designs), Series 2 (24 designs), Goth Series (9 designs), Series 3 (27 designs)! Each of the designs are limited editions of only 35! Oh My Kittiness!!! That sure are A LOT of Kitties!!! @_@ Which are your *faves*!? For me, there are just waaay too many kawaii Kitties to even pick out a handful! o_O

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples Plasticgod Series 2

My photo does not do Plasticgod any justice *sorry* so please look at JapanLA’s site for all the juicy details!

These 16 10″x10″ panels by Chase were also released!

Peekaboo Monster got his live painting on… Btw, there are still a limited amount of his “Kitty Got Space Swag” prints available! Very dope title, huh? My buddy Taft (left) was there to make sure the artists had everything they needed…

I saw Jeanne! How is she always this cute!? @_@

I got a photo with the kawaii lolita girls! @_@ I am pretty sure that the panda-hat-wearing Julie is THE KAWAII-EST doll ever! Yes — doll! n_n She is always, I mean *ALWAYS* freaking’ adorable!

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples with Kawaii Lolitas

So happy I got to meet Pop (such a hottie) and Ash (super cool guy) — they bought a few Buff Monster panels for their Sahbu Shabu restaurant which is scheduled to be open soon! ;P

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples with Pop and Ash

And it was a real pleasure to meet the artists who had works up on display! I was soooo happy! You know how you feel at the end of the school year when you go around to all your friends with your yearbook and have them sign it!? Kinda silly, right? But I promise it was SOOO MUCH FUN!!! If you do not believe me, ask Bellerina and Jenna and Dorothy and Angela!? ;D

My fellow Hello Kitty Junkie Mimi came down from the Bay Area with her husband! It was so amazing to meet her in person — I just wish she came earlier! n_n

The amazing Misha!

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples with Artist Misha

Misha‘s “Hello Venus” is one of my *faves* from the show — hard not to have a few *faves* since so much of the artwork was a-maaazing! n_~ She obviously knows about Art History and Botticelli and The Birth of Venus — she should totally be an Art History professor! Seriously, wouldn’t that be interesting? I know I would not have fallen asleep as much as I did back in the day when I was in school!

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples "Hello Venus" by Misha

After I talked to Misha, I have to move “Hello Bast” into my *faves* category too! I just really love that she incorporated other Sanrio characters in this piece… Can you spot Kuromi? Keroppi? My Melody? Who else!? n_~

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples "Hello Bast" by Misha

My new friends Stephanie and Robyn! They are both kawaii, neh? n_n

I *heart* Simone and I told him! I am just sad that I forgot to tell him I was wearing the über kawaii pink puffy sleeved Donutella Kitty t-shirt! o_O I must have been too excited!!!

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples with tokidoki's Simone Legno

Camilla d’Erricco <3 She was incredibly sweet! And her painting was one of my *faves* from the show… Like I get anxious because I did not buy her “Hello My Kitty Land” print and it is still available! What to do… What to do!? o_O

Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Three Apples with Artist Camilla d'Errico

This was what she created during her live painting session… It was auctioned off and I know the girlie who won it! *jelly*

Hmmm… I am probably leaving out a lot (although it does not feel like it)… If you have not already, please read Bellerina’s 3 Apples – Day 6 “Artists Party” because she is awesome! n_n

Hello Kitty Halloween, Birthday & Prius… Wait, Did I Say Prius!?!?!

Oooh boy! I really hate being super late! >_< I am the type of person that might just completely shut down and not speak to anybody when I am so behind… Not the most ideal way to handle situations. o_O I have been working really hard so I can earn $$$$$ for my Taiwan trip at the end of the year (which is creeping up very fast). Aaand, I went to Three Apples just about every chance I could!

On Halloween, I stopped by JapanLA to take some photos (have you seen them yet? Just posted this and this) and to hang out with some of the kawaii plushies…

Halloween Hello Kitty Plush at JapanLA

I was pretty happy when Misha (one of the über talented Three Apples artists) walked in with her husband! I was even happier when she let me take a photo of her modeling her Hello Kitty lotion. n_n

Artist Misha at JapanLA on Halloween

I headed on over to Royal T… I helped decorate Kitty’s house for Halloween the previous night… Pretty spooky, right? I worked on a little part of the spider webs and added some creepy crawlers… I wish I came up with the idea of wrapping Kitty-chan up like a mummy tho! That was the *cutest* idea and it was executed very nicely by Supa Dave! Here is Jordan and mummy Kitty…

I was sneaking around the pumpkin patch so I could pose with the kawaii kitties.  I was supposed to be Alice in Wonderland btw… n_n

I did not stay at Royal T too long that night because I already made plans to check out the WeHo parade… And I wanted to make sure I would have enough energy for Kitty’s big day…

Happy Birthday Kitty-chan!

I tried to get to Royal T early… That did not happen. o_O I have a small problem with procrastination… And by small I mean pretty big! >_< I know I should plan things better, but somehow decisions are made up until the last possible minute. For example, I had a Bday card I wanted to make for Miss Hello Kitty but I did not buy the materials until the morning of her special day! Maybe I just like to add unnecessary pressure to myself? I stopped by Target on the way and this is how it turned out…

Golonka!*

Hello Kitty Prius

This kittified car sighting had to be one of the most memorable things that happened on Kitty’s Bday! Jamie asked if I saw the Hello Kitty Prius… My response, “WHAT!? WHERE!?” @_@ I followed her out the back with my camera and you know the rest…

Shella's Hello Kitty Prius at Three Apples on Kitty's Birthday

Kawaii overload in the back! These plushies are the perfect company for any ride you must take… *Especially the HUGE one* and yes, I am *jelly* (I later found out that the owner got it through a seller on craigslist)! o_O

What Junkie wouldn’t want this ride as her (or his n_~) daily commuter!?

I was so happy I got to meet the owner of the car — Shella! Of course, we had to pose for a photo in front of her kawaii ride! This was after an hour (I don’t remember how long I talked to her and her boyfriend for)… They were a very sweet couple tho! Her boyfriend took the picture for us — not sure why he didn’t want to be in it! n_~

Ahhh! More Hello Kitty overload to come — please stay tuned! @_@ As always, domo arigato for reading. n_n

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka Hello Kitty Junkies Meet-Up: Another Recap

Domo arigato to all of my Hello Kitty Junkies who came out to Three Apples for the Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka Hello Kitty Junkies Meet-Up! I hope everyone had a lot of fun *even tho I am a BIIIG procrastinator who AL-WAYS waits til the last minute* Just thank kitty-ness for Bellerina and Jordan who kept our meet-up in check! n_~

Junkies in attendance: Monica & hubby Mike, Bellerina & Justin (can’t believe he stayed for that long!) & Martin & his gf, Jordan, HKGuy (who brought homemade Hello Kitty cookies & mooncakes), Jenna, Ash, Connie, Araceli & My (Bay area!), fellow blogger Dorothy aka Hello Kitty Examiner aka Dessert Obsessed, Jennifer, Jere & Czarmyne, Jeanne & Sean & friends, Christian stopped by to take our photos (please make it into the Sanrio book)… Did I miss anyone? *sorry if I did* My real life buddies made it too: Frida, Ian, Joy, Vicki, Dani, Nick, Ursula, Melinda x2 — thanks for being AWESOME! *that’s why we are friends* n_n

Monica stroke a pose with Kitty-chan! Can you think of a better way to start off the day?

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

I was happily surprised to see my non-Hello Kitty loving co-worker buddies stop by! n_n <3 Frida! <3 Ian! They even took a photo with Kitty-chan and me! Was that a sign of Hello Kitty Junkies in the making!? n_~

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

We played Sanrio Bingo (Hello Kitty Junkie Style)… What is it tho? I tried to create a fun icebreaker so we could all get to know each other better… There was a sheet of 20 questions that matched up to one character on a bingo sheet of 20 character profile pictures. The object is to find one person per question to identify each character! It’s more of a getting-to-know-you exercise so we could interact with more people. It was also to test who knew the Sanrio characters best!

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

HKGuy, Bellerina and Jenna are got their bingo on!

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

My and Connie got to know each other… Or at least tried to figure out where I pulled all the info from?

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

While the Junkies played bingo, Jordan acted as the unofficial “official Hello Kitty bodygaurd” because Kitty-chan has a difficult time controlling all of her adoring fans… In fact, Jordan was so good at this job that she had been the chaperone during other special event days! Maybe I see a change in her career, hehe… n_~

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

The winners of Sanrio Bingo: 1. Dorothy 2. Bellerina 3. Araceli… They all did a wonderful job talking to new people. After Sanrio Bingo, I gave my fellow Junkies a quiz! What Kind of Hello Kitty Junkie Are You Quiz, to be exact! Jordan clearly is a certified Hello Kitty Junkie since she came in 1st! With a three way tie for 2nd! Bellerina had to re-check the answers for the quiz… Connie and HKGuy got the prizes for 2nd place (sorry Dorothy). I did not take photos of the awesome prizes the Junkies won! Nor did I take photos of our swap! Boo! Where was I!?!? o_O

But don’t worry! Bellerina is here to save the day! She took awesome photos of the winners with their prizes… And she also has photos of how our $5/under swap went! All of this is on her awesome blog post, 3 Apples – Day 4 “HKJ Meetup!” @_@

Here is a group photo of most of us *borrowed* from Christian! n_~

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

And another one *borrowed* from Jeanne! n_~

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

I am pretty sure the time was winding down… We each brought in some of our favorite kawaii Hello Kitty stationery sheets so that we could write Kitty-chan some “words from our heart” in celebration of her 35th! I also know how nice Sanrio is being to me — and I do not take if for granted AT ALL! With that being said, it was difficult for me to let go of one of my Sanrio x McDonald’s Happy Meal toys from Canada that Rosemary sent me… But sharing your favorite toys with people who are nice to you is what Hello Kitty would do, right? I know Rosemary would understand the cause it went to, so the Junkies who came out on Sunday signed the Hello Kitty figure as a small thank you…

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party aka HKJ Meet-Up at Three Apples

I planned to do a little Hello Kitty origami… But seriously, I have no clue where the time went! o_O I think Jennifer may have been the only one to fold a little Hello Kitty head out of origami paper… Hopefully we have more time for crafts during the next meet-up! n_n

Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party Raffle Prize & Winner

I was soooo shocked when I was told that I would be given a bicycle to raffle off to one of the Junkies! Really!?!?! I had to ask Jill three times if she was pulling my leg!

This Sanrio x Nirve co-branded Hello Kitty HK 4 Ever Super Hot Metallic Pink Cruiser!? For one of us Junkies!? I know! *L*U*C*K*Y* @_@

HKJ Meet-Up Hello Kitty x Nirve Cruiser Bike Raffle Prize

Details of this ride: ladies 1 speed, size: 16” frame, 26” wheels… Retails for $369.99! $_$ Wowza! Sanrio had already donated other prizes AND gift bags! Thank you for the generous donation! o_O

And the raffle prize winner of this Hello Kitty x Nirve cruiser bike donated by Sanrio goes to…

BELLERINA! Congrats Belle! Waaa-wa wa-wa-wa! I thought for sure I was going to win! o_O I guess not this time. I have contacted her and will notify her of how to get her hands on this kittirific pink cruiser! *jelly* *jelly* *jelly*

Again, domo arigato to all my Hello Kitty Junkies who were able to attend! And a very very special thank you forever and ever to Jill, Dave, Susan, Christian and Jamie! You guys make my kitty dreams come to life!

Three Apples Super Fan Day: My Recap

Wow! I have been so busy that I haven’t had time to keep my blog up to date… I apologize… Just wanted to share my recap of Super Fan Day at Royal T which took place on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Since I was helping out, I have a different perspective of what went down — as opposed to some of my Hello Kitty Junkies like Bellerina’s 3 Apples – Day 3 “Super Fan Day!”.

Upon arrival, this is what I saw in front of Royal T! The line was crazy loooooong! It literally went on for a block (at least)… o_O Happy to see some familiar faces in line tho! n_n

Hello Kitty Three Apples Super Fan Day Line

Can you spot Bellerina and Jordan!???

Bellerina and Jordan immediately had to stand in a second line for the “Kitty Mama” and Simone Legno signings… And they were not pleased! AT ALL! >_<

Hello Kitty Three Apples Super Fan Day Line

I was told that some of the fans were standing in lines for a total of five hours! o_O I know! That is madness, right!? But here is the flip side — the peeps from Sanrio, JapanLA, Royal T (and everybody who was helping out during the Super Fan Day) were busting their booties off! Seriously, people were running around making sure things were peaceful! Many fans who were standing in line got cute little Hello Kitty treats *for free* because the peeps over at Sanrio wanted to do something nice. There was even a raffle for a limited edition tokidoki x Hello Kitty item! Oh! And I almost forgot that the first 100 fans in line got a goody bag! I personally know some of the people who have been working 24/7 for the past few months for this massive treat for all Hello Kitty fans to enjoy! So if you see them, just smile and say “Thanks!” or “Awesome event!” I think some words of encouragement would be nice! n_~

I don’t recall much from that day — only that it was SUPER BUSY — I don’t even think all the workers had time to eat a meal! o_O I do remember meeting some awesome Hello Kitty related people! For example, I met Trevor and Dale from Loungefly and they were so cool! I really enjoy chatting it up with people who know about Hello Kitty! It’s also nice when I meet people who read my blog! @_@ I also briefly met Connie — super sweet and kinda shy — AMAZING Hello Kitty collection! @_@ And some of my *fave* Hello Kitty Junkies were present: Anjh and her fam, HKGuy, Monica, etc. etc.

I was fortunate enough to ge my Three Apples poster signed by “Kitty Mama” aka Yuko Yamaguchi (big thanks to Christian)! n_n

I finally had time to grab a bite to eat with the cute maneki neko Kitty figure… The waffles are so kittilicious!

While I was finishing up my quick bite, I spotted a blinged out Hello Kitty iPhone case… Kawaii, neh!? n_~

I was lucky enough to get another autograph and photo with “Kitty Mama” — I even confessed my love for her and Miss Kitty-chan! I also showed her my childhood photo (there was a translator there)… Hmmm… Maybe she thought I was a little crazy? @_@

I wish I had more pix to share… But I must have been busy if that’s all, huh!? Up next is the Meet-Up (Hello Kitty Junkie Trading Party)… \(n_n)/
